While l have my cuppa before I go home - positive stories Re breast calcification

I miss read the letter and thought they meant the mammogram pictures weren’t clear. Turns out they’ve found calcifications. I’m sat here 30 miles from home, my partner is away tonight with work and to be honest he’s lost two people he was close to through cancer this year, one being breast cancer so I really don’t want to put him through more than he has to right now.
So can you give me your positive experiences please?

I had a biopsy for this just after Christmas this year, it was all fine in the end. They told me some people are more prone to it than others as they age.

The biopsy itself wasn't too bad, being squashed into the machine was the worst bit.

Try not to worry, easier said than done obviously.

Thanks Bamaluz - I hit 50 this year. I’m currently under the gyny dept at a different hospital for abalation (fist consultant appointment was yesterday!) so I feel as if I’m falling apart right now....!

Just back from the squish and cut - they think I shouldn’t have to have the vacuum biopsy done as they’re pretty happy with the tissue samples they’ve got so 🤞

Oh that's good, best of luck to you.

Having a wobble about this today. I know that statistically it’s unlikely, but I can’t help worrying right now. Dd’s Doing her mocks in the next few weeks so playing it down but I’m scared.

And the biopsy point aches so hard to put it out of my mind

I had this.

Lump showed up on a mammogram (my first one!). Went back two weeks later for ultrasound and biopsy - she took loads of samples, about 15!

The Radiologist said it didn't look good, then the Nurse took me to the "Room of Doom" and the Dr told me I had breast cancer - I am not sure he was happy with my reaction as he said it twice more to make sure I got the message - I had! I was just thinking "Well that's just flipping great!.

Anyway, went back two weeks later to clinic for the results and the Consultant says its a benign lump! I complained! Been walking round for 2 weeks thinking I had cancer to find that I didn't!

Anyway, the consultant said if he could feel it under examination he would take it out, otherwise it was probably sat too deep. He couldn't feel it, so it's staying put.

Fingers crossed your results come through OK - the consultant did say calcified lumps are quite often (around 50%) benign.

Jappydooda - what a nightmare, but at least you had a great outcome thankfully.
Deep down I’m more worried I guess than I want to admit .......just have to keep bluffing it out until the next appointment......not just for me but the effect on others if statistics go against me......

I was not best pleased! Luckily I hadn't told anyone (apart from DM).

The Consultant was not at all happy - I should think the doctor would have got a telling off.

Keeping fingers crossed for a good outcome for you.
