Dc just turned 2 (yesterday) now her birthday is out of the way I'm now freaking out about our holiday in a few weeks!

4 hours on a plane and no idea how to keep her quiet, she usually stays still for about 3mins maximum!

When we flew with our children at that age I'd make up a bag of new books which they hadn't seen before and small toys to keep them occupied.
Are there any iPad apps for that age?

Good Luck!

If like ours, you'll be doing alot of walking up and down the aisle saying hello to fellow passengers. Take some fiddly to open exciting sweets to eat.

I recommend these soft duck headphones - www.amazon.co.uk/FIRIK-Kids-Headphones-Adjustable-Headband-Kids-Duck/dp/B01NBXE9GL?tag=mumsnetforum-21 and a tablet preloaded with favourite tv show. Lots of snacks.

Dh thinks I'm being ott but I was thinking going to the £ shop and wrapping up a few new things she's not seen and giving one every half hour or so..

I do have an iPad I could download pepper pig to but will she need headphones? Do you think?

I'm trying to get a few ideas in my head and then will work on myself and getting a grip as I'm sure she will pick up on my panic..they can smell fear!

She will either need head phones, or to watch the screen without sound. Please don't subject everyone around you to toddler taste in tv!
Yes, new toys books etc. Sticker books might work???
But, aged just less than 2, mine was just fascinated by the whole plane, and spent ages just sitting and watching. If it's a plane with individual screens, the forward cameras are quite good fun sometimes.

Yes to fiddly to eat food!

Loads of snacks, loads of parental input, sachets of Calpol in hand luggage incase she needs it, drinks bottle you fill up after security so she can drink to sort ears after take off.

And a spare set of clothes in hand luggage for everyone (maybe even 2 sets for her)

Have a great holiday!

Snacks, stickers, let her walk around as much as possible. She will have her own seat which will make it much easier.

Oh, and see if there is a playground at the Airport. Go play (if you have time!) after security and before you go to the gate.

We flew long haul with dd at 12 months and again a few months ago at 2.5. Load the iPad with anything she'll watch. Screen time limits went out the window. Dd was happy with no sound on.

Take some cheap toys, pound shop or tiger do some good bits. In tiger they had a pack of cardboard puppets with a load of stickers to make outfits and silly faces. Dd easily spent an hour making silly puppets with me. And the stickers peel off really easily so by the end she was just sticking them all over DH, me, the back of the seat.

If you'll have a window seat get some jelly stickers from amazon.

Make her up her own backpack with snacks in. Dd didn't like the plane food much so having some snacks with us helped.

The crew on all our flights have been lovely, virgin cabin crew snuck Dd sweets and chocolate from first class.

I would maybe take a small pack of anti bac wipes too, the tray tables etc aren't always that clean and Dd wanted all her snacks on the table.

Hi when our son was little we didn't have any electronics but I would take new books, little toys and lots of snacks.
It depends what time is the flight also she may sleep on board.
Now with phones and iPads it's easier take some headphones.
I'm not a fan of small children with electronics but they are very useful.
