Is it normal for an employer not to respond when you give them notice that you have a new job?

And to remove you from their system a week before you actually finish? Meaning you can't see your last payslip?

Yeah it happened to me ...got one phonecall on the day I left from another manager I met once .. it meant a lot .. someone I met once took time out to acknowledge... I realised then I knew I made the right decision

Not unless you work for a bunch of arseholes. When the people I manage move on I congratulate them and wish them success in their new jobs. I have to take their security pass off them on the last day and delete their accounts after they’ve gone but they remain a welcome part of the team while they are still here.

The last time I resigned due to finding a new job, the two directors of the company didn't speak to me for the whole month of my notice. It was ridiculous! However it made me realise I'd made absolutely the right decision to move on.

Thanks Vanilla. It was definitely the right decision - even before this. Just seems a bit, well, rude not to acknowledge it at all & then to remove my access to the online area where payslips appear & my clocking in/out records so I can't see if it's right Hmm

Similar situation here. My manager is treating me like I've broken up with her and continue to live in her house. 3 weeks left...

I've seen people lose complete system and building access prior to their final day due to a admin fuck up. At a minimum they should confirm your holiday owed/taken and arrangements for leaving. You'll probably get your last payslip in the post if you cant access it online.
