Help! We've been trying to book a week long break for ages but we've had a lot on and so it's going to be very last minute! As in....later this week Blush Apologies for lack of paragraphs but it won't let me press enter.... Have narrowed down holiday specs to 1. Must be warm 2. Have some culture/things to do but not a city. 3. Be on the coast so we can visit beach and wander along the front in the evenings. 4. In Europe somewhere. We have narrowed down to Cyprus as I think it will still be fairly hot there but I have no idea whereabouts would fit the above criteria. We don't really want a mass tourist resort. Anyone been?! Thank you!

Has anyone travelled between the main towns and how long did it take you? What are the roads like?

Roads are much better than they use to be. Get flights into Paphos if you're heading that side.

So if it’s a week’s holiday, how would you split it? We could fly into Paphos then take public transport to one of the towns on the south coast, then a few days later travel to east coast?

I would fly into Larnaca and stay in Protaras if beach is important to you. The beaches are not that great at the Paphos side. We have stayed in Paphos for years but tried Protaras this year and loved itGrin gorgeous beaches, just google image them

We are definitely going back next summer

We’re going to Pernera on October Grin
It has nice beaches but isn’t as interesting as Latchi.

PrimalLass · 25/09/2018 19:57

You can drive from one side to the other in no time. The roads are great and they drive on the left.

Normal EU rules do not apply, which includes health services, food hygiene standards etc

This time next year, they may well not apply here, either!

Another vote for Latchi/Polis

Does anyone know how I would get from Larnaca to Protaras area? The buses only seem to go to Ayia Napa and I don’t know how easy it is to get from there to the Far East bit! I don’t want to stay in Ayia Napa so looking for somewhere on the coast that still has some tavernas etc.
