I have had some results from a scan and wondered what the likely outcome and treatment would be?

Uterus heterogenous in echo pattern and contains cystic spaces.
Overy is expanded with a 4.9cm cyst. Thin walled with internal echoes in a reticular pattern suggestive of haemorrhage.
Trace of fluid on pouch of Douglas (who is Douglas? Grin)

So my questions are:
What are the possible diagnosis
What can I expect treatment wise
What hospitals in the West Midlands are recommended to be referred to?

Thank you, I'm an anxious mess as everything is so vague.

stay out of the Shrewsbury and Telford trust if you have a choice, hopelessly overloaded.

Special that would have been my default trust which is why I'm looking elsewhere. It is a nightmare there currently.

Can you get to Birmingham Women's? Professor Coomarasamy is very good, there is also a Dr. Madhurima Rajkhowa not sure if she has gone private now though. I also liked Dr Abey Eapen but not sure if he is still at the Women's. good luck

I cant comment on particular treatments at SATH but as you know our healthcare in this area is in very deep trouble.Future fit and mps that are on record as not caring if people are 90 mins from a nd e. If you can get to a city, do it.

Birmingham Womens (and now Childrens !) hospital in Harborne. DW has had excellent care there every time.

Douglas was James Douglas - a Scottish anatomist/ obstetrician/ midwife in the late 17th century. As well as having defined the Rectouterine pouch (pouch if Douglas) he was also famous for proving that a woman who’d claimed to have given birth to a load of rabbits was in fact fibbing. Hope you get the answers you’re actually looking for soon. 🙂

Birmingham Women's hospital. Prof Coomarasamy is excellent, but only does recurrent miscarriage clinics there now I think. Prof Justin Clark is also excellent, as well as very pleasant. Can definitely recommend him.
