If they're similar to goose eggs then they will be yummy!!

MsHomeSlice · 24/09/2018 11:29

yes, like Mawkish ... I couldn't get past it, and couldn't even watch dh eat the scrambled eggs either

I don't know what it is, as we have had chickens too and I have seen those chickens do eat some bad things , vicious wee madams!

vampirethriller · 24/09/2018 11:56

They're a bit more "eggy" than hens eggs but they're brilliant for baking cakes! If you boil them they need longer than hen eggs. And they're not fishy Grin we used to keep ducks and they never ate fish... Just duck food and grass!

glagdy · 24/09/2018 11:59

While we're talking about it my chickens eat some vile things. Envy

cakesonatrain · 24/09/2018 12:03

Duck eggs are awesome. We love them for all eggy purposes. Fried duck eggs are so good. You've got me craving one now.

MrsZB · 24/09/2018 13:09

Ugh no way. I just couldn’t.

Ezzie29 · 24/09/2018 13:32

I wouldn’t but not because I think they’d be fishy or anything! It’s just that everything I’ve ever read about them says they are richer than chicken eggs and I find chicken eggs a bit rich (can’t eat omelettes for this reason!) so I know I wouldn’t enjoy a duck egg. You should try it tho if you’re an egg fan!

EscapeToTheMoon · 24/09/2018 16:43

Theyre not really for eating ie fried boiled, but fab for baking!

waxy1 · 24/09/2018 21:30

They are absolutely for boiling, frying, poaching and scrambling.

YeOldeTrout · 24/09/2018 21:31

We had ducks who laid eggs almost daily when I was growing up so wouldn't think twice, of course I'd eat them, in any way chicken eggs are prepared.

DrWhy · 24/09/2018 21:34

Ooh, I haven’t had duck eggs for ages, my gran used to serve them for us as a special treat when she could get them off the market, they’ve got a lovely big rich yolk, perfect for boiled eggs and toast soldiers. I wonder if I could buy them locally now...

differenteverytime · 24/09/2018 21:34

I love them myself, but they can bite - my dh is horrifically intolerant of them. The tiniest bit on the end of a spoon puts him in bed for two days. He's fine with hen eggs and any other sort that he's tried.

SheRaTheAllPowerful · 24/09/2018 21:42

Oh yum of course, people are so weird Confused

TheChatsPyjamas · 24/09/2018 21:48

They make my dh sick too and a couple of egg farmers I know were saying they’d never eat duck eggs as the shells are much more porous and likely to absorb shit from the ground.

Furrycushion · 24/09/2018 21:49

I've bought them in the supermarket. Delicious, although I'm not sure I'd know in a blind tasting
