Tell me how to tumble dry without shrinking everything

Following on from a thread that said that drying clothes on airers in your house or on radiators causes mound, I don't know how to tumble dry stuff without shrinking it.

I know how to do sheets, towels, cotton shirts etc.

But it's the cotton blend stuff or - even worse - polyester stuff. And SOCKS. How do you tumble dry that stuff without shrinking it all?

I have a Dri Buddy linked to by a PP. it’s amazing. Incredibly cheap to run, nothing needs ironing and I never understood the whole thing about needing to put a sheet over the heated airer - when this is completely set up to do it already.

The best thing about the dri buddy is that because everything’s on hangers already, you just put it all away straight into the wardrobe.

YOu look on the label to see what is tumble - dry- able.

Normal, cotton socks are... (woollen) walking socks / ski socks aren't
Pants are
T shirts usually are (watch out for screen printing)
The 'silky' type material - for example used in football shirts - isn't
Jeans are
Wool jumpers aren't
sweatshirts and hoodies - it varies (read the label, and depends how precious it is... the often say 'no but usually can be)

I use the tumble drier all year round except when we are having a heatwave like this year, and have never had anything shrink.
