Picture of registration form for DD's netball club. How bloody weird.

It's definitely a junior form as later on it asks for parent/guardian details.

so does the adult netball team have to report its ratio of straight to gay and recruit selectively if it is wrong?

sorry but this is NUTS. especially as the team discriminates anyway by being female only.

I never answer religion, race or orientation questions on forms. Irrelevant.

DN4GeekinDerby · 23/09/2018 14:01

It does look like a copy-paste from another form. It would be nice if a bit more thought was put in (and think it's a bit weird for it be listed as sexual preference rather than sexual orientation if copied from an adult form), but would just either leave it blank or put a line through it.

'and WHY do you want to know this?! "
Would be my reply

I would just write 'Umm.. she's 10. Is this an appropriate question for 10 year olds?'

NicoAndTheNiners · 23/09/2018 14:23

If someone gave me such a stupidly worded form I’d be tempted to put anal or cowgirl position. 😉.....but I realise that’s not appropriate for a 10yo!

I would cross it out.

Why do you even need to know even if it were a form for adults? You might as well ask who is the most talented coach in the Neville family, given that two of them coach international sports teams.

I think you should complain, even if suggesting it is a mistake.

FermatsTheorem · 23/09/2018 15:13

it's a ball chucking team, not (I hope!) an invitation to join an orgy club.

it isn't relevant for the adult game either which is still a ball chucking team not an orgy club.

This is why I love mumsnet. (Came for the BF advice, stayed for the jokes about tentacle porn).

It should not be on a form for children.

Even with adults - if you're trying to deal with a specific issue (e.g. homophobic bullying in football - which having played Sunday league, I can say with certainty is a genuine problem), then that problem needs to be dealt with in a much more targeted way that simply putting a blanket question on your membership forms.

I've emailed England Netball, no reply as yet.
