The trauma of 'soft' play.

So, I took DD to the chaos pit that is soft play today. I don't really know why they call it soft play, as it tends to be anything but soft!

During today's visit DD (22 months) had her juice taken from her by another child... Was pushed over (deliberately) by a boy older than her who then stamped on her leg, whilst his father watched and offered a few flimsy 'don't do that, that's naughty' type comments, without getting up.

Then, just as I thought the visit had improved... DD made friends with a lovely little girl, who was maybe 4. She was the sweetest thing, helping DD climb the stairs, holding the punch bags aside for her and holding her hand going down the slide as I sat and watched.

I looked away to answer an email, then heard 'mummy, mummy, look at me' innocent as you like. Up I looked to see who was doing what and what do I see? DDs lovely, new found friend... Carrying DD towards us (her mum was on the next table)... By the neck!! Hell fire, give me strength! She obviously meant no harm and didn't understand what she'd done wrong when her mum gave her a bollocking, but(!), poor DD was bright red, being strangled! 😮 Safe to say, I gave up and we went home!

Share with me your soft play horror stories! Please, tell me it's not just me that comes away traumatised every time!

On previous visits, DD has returned with a sickness bug and nits!

Roll on the day she doesn't want to go anymore! 😂

It's best to take smaller ones to soft play during the week when it's quieter, we'll that's what I do.
