My cat shat in the Lego box

Any tips on how to clean Lego? There are loads of tiny pieces that will go down the plug hole if I try and wash it in the bath. DH says he used a sieve last time he had to wash Lego but there's way too much for that.

Dishwasher in a Colander.

I had a cat piss in a Lego box once.

PlateOfBiscuits · 22/09/2018 18:33

It didn’t poo on all ten cubic feet though?

peridito · 22/09/2018 18:42

I can see that diarreah would be a problem but if it's actual poo surely it would be a fairly contained area ?

More to the point ,why do cats do this ? My elderly female one has taken to pissing ( I would much ptefer poo) on stray Ikea blue bags with clothes destined for charity shop ,a box of Xmas decs, the front room carpet and luggage packed for early depature .
I get that she doesn't like upheaval .But is this common behaviour ?

Wait - how long was the cat shut in the garage for exactly ?

Iamagreyhoundhearmeroar · 22/09/2018 18:47

10 to 15 washing machine loads? How much shit is there??

firedupp · 22/09/2018 18:55

How much does your cat shite?!

Justwanttoweeinpeace · 22/09/2018 19:04

I'd just move. Maybe don't let the cat know where.

Good luck OP.

molemonkey · 22/09/2018 19:21

They did it as a punishment for getting trapped in the garage! My cat got locked in ours overnight and climbed in the tumble drier to stay warm and shit in it🤢
DH didnt realise and put a load of wet washing in and turned it on, I went in when it had finished and was met by the most horrendous smell 🤮🤢 took 3 big bath towels drenched in comfort to get rid of the smell and plenty of antibac spray to sort it! Thank the lord that my tumble drier wasnt the kind that has holes all across the drum 😂

StuntNun · 22/09/2018 19:59

The poo was buried at the bottom of the Lego box but by the time we realised it was there the Lego had been mixed up and it wasn't easy to tell where the poo finished. Sad

yes, remove the solids as best as you can then zipped pillow case and into the washer with a little washing up liquid.

lego purists might Shock at this, but no way am I washing a trillion pieces by hand.

Stressedoverkids · 22/09/2018 20:04

Could you sterilise it with Milton

redsummershoes · 22/09/2018 20:04

have done the pillowcase thing when dc puked into the box

Pringlemunchers · 22/09/2018 20:07

From another thread I'm on, just stick it in the dishwasher 😮

AppleKatie · 22/09/2018 20:09

Gloves for the worst picking and throwing.

Then shower the rest in bath - probably with a spray —or 10– of bathroom cleaner with bleach.

Cold water Milton sterilise the whole amount in the bath.

Then take out in batches and dry on kitchen roll.

Newbiecat · 22/09/2018 20:11

What about washing it through in the bath then leaving it to soak in fresh bath water with a load of Milton steriliser tablets in?

LittleBearPad · 22/09/2018 20:12

How big was the box!!

Chuck it all in the bath with Milton and take it out before pulling the plug

Candymay · 22/09/2018 20:18

My cat’s poo doesn’t offend me at all and I would pick through it and clean no problem. I understand that is not very helpful and would probably sound gross to anyone not so madly in love with their felines.
