If your preschooler has a healthy diet

Please Tell me what they typically eat in a day!

My 3 year old is prone to constipation so a load of fruit every day is essential! And will also have 3 portions of vegetables but it's always the same - broccoli, sweet corn and carrots. There isn't much variety...

I always read on here not to give them too much fruit and more veggies but what does this healthy low sugar low salt diet really look like?

Mine will drink 2 litres before/during/after a 2h training session in the evening.

Maybe I should just tell my children they must never drink anything at school or in the morning because they need to save their alloted fluid intake for evening sports?!

I'm being sarcastic. The idea of limiting their hydration is madness. It smacks of "my children don't hydrate that much so it must be Bad if yours do". Taking an implied sence if personal failure from the actions of others.

As it happens I did once see the doctor about my own water intake when pregnant. My ice craving meant I was consuming about 5 litres of water in the form if ice per day. Doctor looked at my bloods and urine tests and basically concluded that there isn't a problem. Just keep salt and electrolyte levels up along and all is fine.

I guess we are a family who likes being well hydrated! There's not a problem in that. And going back to the subject of the OP - a big benefit is I've never had to deal with constipation Grin

Mine will eat absolutely anything.
Typical breakfast: bowl of porridge, toast with marmite, banana
Typical lunch: scrambled egg on wholemeal toast or cheese and houmous sandwich, cucumber, kiwi
Typical dinner: spaghetti bolognese or roast vegetables and quorn sausage or pasta with tomatoes, veg and cheese
Dessert: yoghurt
Snacks: raisin toast, fruit, mini cheddars, sesame snaps

NotUmbongoUnchained not to judge but it doesn’t look like your kids will be getting more than one, maybe two of their five a day in there? And five should really be the minimum.

How is “the curry will have 5 different veg in” plus them having beetroot soup, not having their 5 a day? That’s actually 6.

"Squash dehydrating?! No. Just no."

Technically it is dehydrating, the concentration of squash is higher than the water in your celws, and through osmosis it would actually draw the water out of the cells.

Now it is not an issue. Because you won't die of dehydration througshe squash. But it biologically dehydrating.
