Secure chest of draws to wall

What can I but to secure my dd chest of draws to the wall? It isn't particularly heavy and not even too high, but it has fallen on her once after she was playing with it.

We want to build her new toddler bed and try her in it. I would just like to make it secure.

Ideally I would like to buy it today so it would probably be Argos, Wilko or Robert dyas. Failing that it'll need to be Amazon. I can't really find anything though, not sure I'm searching with the right words and no idea what it's actually called.

Thank you.

My googling has identified "furniture wall anchors". You'd probably be better with a B&Q if you've got one nearby but otherwise Wilko's probably your best bet.

if you google furniture brackets to prevent dresser or bookshelf from tipping over there are different options.
the spelling is drawers, but dresser or book shelf would give you more "hits" than draws (which means to color).

There are loads on amazon but if you're googling draws they probably don't come up, it's drawers

Google ‘furniture wall straps’

Grin I've only just noticed I've called it draws. I do realise now it's drawers. Probably why I didn't get very far.

Thank you, I will look with these search terms.

Please use correct terminology OP. It's a Chester Draws.

I've just attached a bookshelf to the wall using L-shaped brackets from B&Q. One side screwed into the wall, the other to the top of the shelf. The brackets were only a couple of pounds and it feels much more secure than using the little straps.

Make sure you do this, I remember reading about twins being killed by an old dresser falling on them about ten years ago. My DD were similiar ages and the story haunted me for ages. All of our furniture is fixed to the walls. Most new stuff comes with brackets. Mothercare used to do plastic strap things and any DIY place will have something

NastyCats · 22/09/2018 07:58

Yep my dh used L-shaped brackets after the drawers fell on my children. They are very heavy and always felt sturdy. I have to admit it never occurred to me they might pose a threat. They were saved by a plastic sit-on bouncy toy that wedged the drawers and them being crushed. They were 'only' trapped but would have been killed if it hadn't been for that toy which I had actually always hated. I couldn't even push the drawers up myself to free them. Still makes me feel sick.

Pips841 · 22/09/2018 08:01

They are actually called drawers not draws!

LongSummerDays · 22/09/2018 08:01

Please use correct terminology OP. It's a Chester Draws

Oh I don't know, I saw a "Chesty Draws" advertised on Facebook yesterday. Wink

Being serious, most diy shops will have the brackets to secure furniture to the wall. You should be able to find them easily.

shutupandgotosleep · 22/09/2018 08:11

L shaped brackets here as well

SweetPeaPods · 22/09/2018 08:13

Ikea do them too.
