Viagogo ticket site

I heard something on the news about clamping down on ticket websites but I understand the issue now.

DD was very kenn to get tickets, being released today, for a gig she wanted to go to.They went on sale whilst she was at school so asked DS to try and get them for her, with DH’s credit card.Hmm

I came back from work to find that 2 tickets had cost £270! Shock
I found 2 tickets for under £70 on other sites. DS was concerned about the price but they were a Birthday present and he told me he’d been lucky to get them as, ‘there was a timer and lots of people looking at them and hardly any left’. DS has AS and is very literal though many people must be duped by these tactics. Angry

They are non-refundable though apparently I can sell them back on their site. Hmm

Does anyone know if they buy back at the same price? I assume the booking fee disappears and they charge the next punter the same fee?

Last year we bought 2 tickets for OMD in Manchester on Viagogo. 3 days before the event tickets still hadn't arrived so DH phoned them. They assured him they would be delivered. Within 10 minutes we received an email from Viagogo stating tickets were no longer available. We had booked time off work but luckily hadn't booked train tickets in advance. We did receive a full refund including all fees within a week but still, heartily pissed off we didn't see the concert we'd looked forward to seeing for months.
Wouldn't touch Viagogo ever again

Try Tweeting them and sending them a DM.

Speak to your bank and explain and ask if they can do anything. Maybe not, but it’s worth asking.

DS does have capacity but is very literal so completely believes the ‘selling out now’ tactics.
Looking at this article I don’t want to perpetuate this cycle by just selling the tickets back on this bloody site.
Nowhere on the site does it tell you the cover price of the ticket or what their charges are, but, as it appears to be legal it looks like I have little redress.

I understand, I'm also on the spectrum and find anything like that overwhelming, especially when doing it for someone else as you want to get it right for them. I also think ticket resale sites are scumbags. But neither are valid reasons for chargeback.

If your child has fraudulently used DH's card the bank will not refund at all.

BabySharkAteMyHamster · 23/09/2018 11:24

She might not even get into the venue with them as so many places have clamped down on this. It's disgusting, viagogo is basically a scam website.

We were worried about this too PP.
When the tickets finally arrived they had the original buyers name on themShock. But, we got in ok at the venue, they just scanned the barcode and waved us in , thankfully.

DS is 21 and DH apparently handed over his debit card on the way out of the door. I sometimes think I’m the only one in this house with any common sense!

Yes but the bank t & cs only allows the cardholder to use the card. If they mnow he allowed someone else too they will not entertain any claim as it is in breach of their conditions of use .

Know not mnow
