Taking bars off of the cot bed.

DS is going to be two in a month or so. He loves his sleep, gets a solid 12 hours at night with very very rare waking in the night, and naps between an hour or two a day. No problems with him going to bed or getting him to sleep - at bed time or nap time I ask him if he wants to go to bed, which he says yes to every time, and I give him a bottle in bed, read a story and then lights off. Falls to sleep straight away.

When he wakes up he calls me and I go to get him. He's always still tucked up. Doesn't try to climb out despite being tall enough to.

I want to take the cot bars down because it is really hurting my back getting him on and out (i.e. weighs about 33lbs). He is obsessed with cosy beds and whenever he sees a bed he wants to get in, get under the duvet and snuggle up.

I'm worried it might ruin his good sleeping by him wanting to get in and out, but at the same time I feel like this is the best time to do it- whilst he loves bed and loves sleeping!

Just looking for some reassurance that I'm not going to mess this up by rushing things when he's perfectly happy as it is?
