Ebay - Decent offer, but dodgy feedback

Advice please.

I've listed an expensive new item on ebay and have received a few offers, with the last two being from the same ebayer.

I've looked at their feedback and although it is 100% positive, as a buyer, on closer inspection, there has been one seller who has left comments on the lines of "nightmare", and "opened a dispute to get refund but didn't return item". I am now very wary.

Would you refuse to sell to this person? I am afraid, if I send it and something goes wrong, like claiming item not as described, then I have no comeback. What protection would is there for sellers?

Thank you in advance.

feck all protection... Are you posting this item? Is it pristine like new?

xsquared · 20/09/2018 20:18

Yes, brand new. Potential buyer would be getting £70 off than buying it from the shop.

My fear would be that they swap items over and claim it is not as described.

I would be posting it.

How long have you had the item listed? How much interest has there been in it?

xsquared · 20/09/2018 20:23

Richard, Coming up to a week and have 5 watchers at present.

Don’t sell it to the person with rubbish feedback. Not worth it.

xsquared · 20/09/2018 20:38

Lily, my gut feeling says no. I think I'll stick to it and ignore them.

5 watchers no way I'd sell for 'decent' offer. Hold out for best price you can get.

RichardLongcross · 20/09/2018 21:07

Yes sounds like you will sell it, either at full price or a better offer so I'd hold out. eBay does tend to side with buyers so it's not worth the hassle.

xsquared · 20/09/2018 21:14

Ok. I've managed to work out how to put them on my blocked list. Just hope it works!

Thanks all.

Ok, so after declining her first offer and ignoring her second, she’s messaged me to show proof they’re real.
I have no problem with that as I could just put a photo of the receipt on the listing.
However, I’ve also put them on my blocked list. I don’t know whether it works though. Will they be able to buy my item or not? Thinking of asking them to explain the comment in the feedback or should I just ignore.

Steer clear. Not worth the risk.

YeOldeTrout · 23/09/2018 10:52

They can't bid if they are on your blocked bidders list. You can safely ignore. Would you buy from someone who didn't answer messages? Leave it

This info might help you fully block their messages.

Thanks olde trout. I'll look into it.
