she’s going tomorrow and is having a big wobble over uni. She’s off tomorrow. She was absolutely fine, but I came home from work today and she was in floods saying she’s going to miss us so much. She’s not sure she wants to go. Anyone been through this?

How was she OP?

really emotional saying goodbye. She was in floods Sad of tears. She texted me late last night though to say she’d been to a social thing and made two new friends. I spoke to her an hour ago and she sounded upbeat. I think the fact we stayed till 8 probably didn’t help and made her feel more emotional/sad. She sounded so positive this morning.

It’s great that she’s positive now :)

Glad she’s a bit more upbeat and hope she keeps going. My DS came home from uni during the first term but that was course related rather than personal problems. (Now in 3rd year on a different course elsewhere).

This is in no way personal to the OP but I think we have a developing problem in the UK of infantalising young adults who then have no resilience. See this daily in work - kids who can’t cope with fairly routine things or usual rites of passage. Whilst it’s a good thing that people are more open about feelings and communicate this better, a bit of stiff upper lip, resilience and giving things time can go a long way to sorting out many problems.

Glad to hear it papaya
