Help! Need snack ideas for morning party

My son’s 5th birthday party is rapidly approaching. The party is 10-11.30 at his martial arts studio. It will be a bit of a lesson with some party games thrown in.
Parents know it will be ‘snacks only’ because the dojo has no facility for actual food making.
But what do I give? Was thinking of sandwiches, sausages etc but then my Mum pointed out that the food will be at about 11ish so typical party food sounds a bit wrong....
What do you think?

i would have some cut up fruit (strawberries, kiwi, apple), some chocolate fingers and some picnic bites, like mini sausages and quorn picnic eggs.

sleepismysuperpower1 · 19/09/2018 19:44

oh, and some crisps

I think typical party food would be fine if that's what you and your son would like or you could style it as a brunch? croissants, muffins, brioche, cream cheese bagels, cold sausages and scotch pancake would be nice with a choice juices

Biscuits, fruit, crisps- mini croissants/ mini pastries (think apple turnovers or something)

Ooo yes, something brunchey would be good. I didn’t even think of that! I’m so stressed out with a million things going on that I’m not thinking straight!!

Cool party! Savoury muffins. Cheese straws. I could happily eat sausage rolls at that time too Smile

Raid the Lidl bakery for croissants & pastries!

EvenFlo2 · 19/09/2018 20:06

There’s a Lidl right across the road! Yay!

Not all children’s party venues would have kitchen facilities though. Local leisure centre, church hall etc - you have to make everything at home in advance and take it with you.

Queenofmyownheart · 19/09/2018 20:09

I agree. Pastries, fresh fruit, veg, snacky stuff. Kids at my kids parties have rarely eaten the sandwiches anyway 😂

EvenFlo2 · 19/09/2018 20:10

I agree about the sandwiches - we went to a party recently, food was amazing but the children pretty much only ate the party sausages and crisps!
