High Chair Recommendations

I am going to offer to buy a high chair for a family baby due to be born very soon.
My plan is to let the new mum choose the one she wants when she is ready, but does anyone have any recommendations? I want to sound like I know what I am talking about when discussing it with her!

Car seat? After the infant one we have always had three at each stage for two children. It's been expensive but hopefully we're done with purchases now!
A jumperoo was definitely a winner here, but in terms of big items, there's not much else a baby needs?!
A baby gym is also a good item to have. Ours both loved the fisher price rainforest one.
Oooh oooh oooh I've just remembered the swing chair. We had a mamas and Papas one with a light canopy but I wouldn't necessarily recommend it, but definitely a good concept. There are some really nice ones though, like the mamaroo. Sometimes you just need a break from being attached to a tiny person and they're great for keeping them happy for a little while.

While I would second the Antilop rec. a high chair really isn't a present for a new baby. It will just get in their way for 6 months!

A bouncy/vibrating/swinging chair suitable from newborn would be a much better gift. There are loads of great ones and they are invaluable for giving new parents somewhere safe to put down baby while they eat/pee/get stuff done.

I love our Tripp trapp. Highly recommend it.

The Baby Bjorn is brilliant - no straps or corners for food to get stuck in.

Thank you for all your advice. I think I will offer the various items to the mum to be, and ask her to pick what suits them best.
I wasn't intending to buy a high chair when the baby was born, but make the offer to buy when it was needed as I am conscious that they might get in the way. Maybe also buy a baby grow or teddy when baby is born. I am trying to be thoughtful, but not interfering iyswim!!

Ikea antilop- no competition.

Wooden or padded ones seem to gather dried on gloop in the books and crannies- yuk.
