NDN parked like a twat and then fucked off on holiday

shityourpants · 19/09/2018 00:53

He has 2 spaces for his 2 cars.

He decided to park horizontally in the space a few feet from the end of my vertical parking space.

He is on holiday for 2 weeks.

Wanker.

If the van is larger than 2500 kilos it cannot be parked on the road overnight without lights on. Also worth checking if there are any other rules preventing him from parking his commercial vehicle overnight.

Mummyoflittledragon · 19/09/2018 05:36

I like the breadcrumbs idea and parking on their drive. Idiot. They wanted you to remove the trampoline. For goodness sakes. My ndn has put their kids trampoline on the patio beside the fence, which looks directly into conservatory and at my patio/ back door. The kid is short atm but will grow. It pissed me off a few weeks ago when the mother was saying hello over the fence whilst jumping on it. I really want to ask them to move it but they have fake grass fgs so it has to go on the patio. Just wondering what I could do to them! Wink

LellyMcKelly · 19/09/2018 06:16

That is the best parking diagram I have ever seen. Truly awesome.

Faithless12 · 19/09/2018 06:20

Reverse onto your parking space, that makes it easier to get out of your space and you should be able to position yourself to reverse easier. TBH reversing in is better anyway.

Groovee · 19/09/2018 06:48

I'd use his space while he was away. 👌🏻 to your diagram.

BillywilliamV · 19/09/2018 06:50

slugs on the roof and windscreen

StateOfTheUterus · 19/09/2018 07:00

Is your NDN but 1 struggling to park too?
Horrid neighbour.

Believeitornot · 19/09/2018 07:06

If your trampoline is overlooking next door - well I mean if the kids can see in their garden - then yes you should do something about it.

As for the parking - definitely check the rules about the type of vehicle being allowed to be parked on the road and when he gets back explain that he made it difficult to park and passive aggressively ask if there’s a problem like this Smile

DGRossetti · 19/09/2018 08:57

Trolley jack (or some hefty mates Grin) and move the car ?

ArtemisWeatherwax · 19/09/2018 09:07

There must be a way to move the van onto his empty drive and pretend it was there all along.

NoSquirrels · 19/09/2018 09:13

Park on his drive, for sure.

shityourpants · 19/09/2018 09:16

The trampoline is a toddler one with handles. It is not blocking their view of anything and DS can't see over the fence on it as the trampoline itself is 1ft high and the fences are 6ft. I have no idea why my trampoline in my garden offends his wife so much. It can only see it from the bedroom window.

I have decided to park horizontally with the cars boot end on my space and front end on their parking space. I have also put breadcrumbs on top of his work van and car.

NDN but 1 has no trouble getting in and out. He has no idea why twat neighbour has parked so strangely.

First.. start mission impossible music on phone...
Second, wait till night, don a black cat suit and black boots. Sneak out, remove number plates on van..
Third, wait till morning and call breakdown amd impound place and tell them someone has abandoned a vehicle on your road.
Fourth, Let them take it away and impound it. They'll track owner by vehicle info, but it may take a while as number plates are gone.
Fifth.. laugh heartily when they return to no van and a hefty impound fee..
If thy mention it too you, do the "Mumsnet Special"
Head tilt, tinkly laugh, wide eyed innocently ask,
"Why didn't you park on you drive?"

MrsWombat · 19/09/2018 09:23

If a small toddler trampoline is offending them, then I think Father Christmas might have to bring your DS a 10ft one in December. Grin

ektomarie · 19/09/2018 09:23

I wonder what this does to his insurance, if he purposely left his vehicle parked on a public road for two weeks, but normally parks it on a private drive. Usually lowers your rate. Anyone know if it might invalidate the insurance for vandalism etc? I’d helpfully point this out to him in the future.

Coffeethrowtrampbitch · 19/09/2018 09:23

You might need to spray sun cream on your nearest and dearest before leaving the garden. If some of it gets sprayed on the car, it will wash off in the rain, along with the top layer of paint, leaving a fun pattern of dots on his paintwork. As he enjoys games so much...

TaliZorahVasNormandy · 19/09/2018 09:48

Print out pictures of loads of trampolines, then stick them all over the Van. Your DS will find it a fun game.

TownHall · 19/09/2018 09:50

I have also put breadcrumbs on top of his work van and car

I wouldn't have done that. What if he has CCTV and you've just given him cause to up the anti.

It's a bad idea.

Neptunesgiraffe · 19/09/2018 10:15

Could you text him n and say he must have left the handbrake off and his vehicle has rolled along. Be vague with the details of how far. He might panic and get someone to move it.

FunSponges · 19/09/2018 11:06

Epic diagram!

I hate parking dickheads. We have loads where I live. No one has spaces or drives but if you park sensibly, you can easily fit more cars in buy most twats see a massive space big enough for 2 big cars and dump theirs right in the middle or leave a massive space between theirs and the car in front so you can't fit a car into the slightly too small space they have left. It's constant outside my house and drives me mad and they are always people from down the road.

Redglitter · 19/09/2018 14:44

You really think causing criminal damage is appropriate when all he's done is parked like an arse???

Some great advice on this thread

shityourpants · 19/09/2018 16:59

He doesn't have CCTV. And he isn't parked on a road, it's just a tarmac space used by us to reverse out of our parking spaces - and for delivery vans to park.

He is moving soon so I'm not worried about having a bit of bad blood. When he decides to be a twat I usually just completely ignore him and act like he isn't even there. However he has purposely done this to make it difficult for me to get in and out of my parking space safely. So he can fuck off. Smile
