Do you miss your kids being young?

Lighthearted disclaimer!

My kids are 4 and 2 and they're just so cute and cuddly. I feel like I'm really gonna miss that when they're older.

Although I'm sure I'll enjoy [slightly] more adult conversation and [lots] more sleep!

Does everyone with older kids desperately miss the times when they were young and innocent??

nope - mine are 19 and 20 now, and although I (mostly) enjoyed each stage of their childhood, I love that they are adults now!

the teen years were pretty awful with DS (DD was no trouble at all), and so I'm just glad that its all behind us and we can watch them as they set out on their own lives. (one is studying overseas now and the other is setting up his own business).

and we get to SLEEP! Grin

Yes and no. I sometimes look back wistfully and I smile when I hear the little girl next door beginning to communicate - I remember telling her parents not to worry about the noise as it was kind of nice to hear someone else starting out on that journey. It’s all gone so quickly!

However, I’m so proud of the young adults mine have turned/are turning into. Hopefully there will be times for the cute stuff again if there are grandchildren :)
