These are pics my DS's eyes taken with a flash and also looking into the natural daylight.

They're nothing like mine or DH's, what colour would you say they are?

Brown

Talkwhilstyouwalk · 18/09/2018 18:01

Brown and beautiful!

BitchQueen90 · 18/09/2018 18:02

Brown.

My DS's looked exactly this colour when he was a toddler. His dad's eyes are hazel and mine are bluey green. As time passed DS's eyes lightened to hazel.

glitterystuff · 18/09/2018 18:06

Very dark greenish brown. Brown in the main but there's a moss green in there too.

glitterystuff · 18/09/2018 18:06

Exactly like my daughter's eye BTW!

hallodarknessmyoldfriend · 18/09/2018 18:08

brown

LemonysSnicket · 18/09/2018 18:14

Brown....

pollysproggle · 18/09/2018 18:17

I always want to say brown but I can see the green in there too.
Mine are green and DH's are blue so no clue where the brown comes from!

glitterystuff I find them so dark and unusual (beautiful obviously) but never know what colour to say when someone asks

Brown with green outline. Very beautiful.

AamdC · 18/09/2018 18:48

Brown with a hint of green lovely colour very similar to my sons!

brizzledrizzle · 18/09/2018 18:49

Brown

glitterystuff · 19/09/2018 08:14

There's no reason why you can't say "deep dark greenish brown" or shorten it to brown when you cba to say the long version!

One of my kids has a coppery colour in the middle, graduating to green, with a steel blue/grey rim!!!! In his case I call it hazel for short as I found out that for identification purposes, some opticians use "hazel" - as it doesn't mean a colour but a mixture of colours. The colour most people think of as hazel is actually amber or copper.

Either way, I like the way some above described your LO's eyes "brown and beautiful".

toastedbeagle · 19/09/2018 12:53

How old are they?

My daughters eyes changed completely between 9m and now...

pollysproggle · 19/09/2018 13:03

I am wondering if they'll change a bit but they've been very dark since birth. Very dark blue/grey to this. He's nearly 2 and a half

I would say hazel. Mine are similar, but lighter. I think the green tinge is what makes 'brown' 'hazel', if you know what I mean.

fantasmasgoria1 · 19/09/2018 14:39

Dark brown

CatFangsAndFanta · 19/09/2018 14:45

Oh they’re lovely! I can see brown, green and blue, so I’d say they’re multicoloured! Smile Eyes and genetics is always interesting isn’t it? It’s quite random. Dh has very dark brown eyes, mine are a kind of mossy greenish brown. Ds1 has almost black irises but ds2’s eyes are somehow pure copper coloured with no flecks, almost like a cat with amber eyes in the right light. We think he’s human though!

pollysproggle · 19/09/2018 16:14

Yes I find it very interesting! He was born with dark brown/black hair which stayed for a year then turned to blonde curls!

DH and I are both dark haired and although we were both fairer when children neither of us had blonde hair.

Brown, and enviable eyelashes too.

glitterystuff · 21/09/2018 07:18

Yes! Genetics are amazing! My two youngest, who have exactly the same mum and dad (DS1 is from a previous relationship), could be more different!

One (DS) is tall, slim, golden skin, golden wavy thick hair, and turquoise eyes. The other (DD) is petite but already unnervingly curvaceous, with pale rosy skin, completely straight deep brown hair, and very dark brown/green eyes.

Even their eye, nose, lips, jawline etc are different!

Both my and hubby have green eyes, so I don't know how the genetics have actually worked out that way at all. Hmm

BTW I agree with Hilda, your lil guy has lovely eyelashes.
