Advice on faulty goods, just out of warranty

Hoping for some advice please...

I bought a velux-style blind and had it fitted 14 months ago from a reputable local company.

The blind developed a fault last month (1 month out of warranty) and the supplier is refusing to replace it, even though the manufacturers website states that they guarantee their blinds for 3 years.

I have been in touch with the manufacturer (they referred me to the supplier), the supplier (said they couldn’t liaise with me directly and would only speak via their customer – the original shop I bought the blind from), and the shop themselves (they say their hands are tied and that the supplier won’t budge on replacing the blind FOC and want to charge us full price for replacement)

I’d like to know if I have a leg to stand on. I appreciate that the warranty may only be a year, and I expect to replace a bespoke blind in maybe 5-10 years. I don’t expect the product to fall apart just after the warranty ends.

How can I escalate (and should I?)

Look here www.which.co.uk/consumer-rights and www.businesscompanion.info/en/quick-guides/services/the-supply-of-services

The warranty is a red herring. You have a contract with the shop you bought it from and they have to deal with it under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. The second link above is aimed at businesses so they should read it.
