I struggle with this at times so was wondering about what you consider the biggest social media faux-pas to be. Also wondering about things others are unsure of.

Here's the thing I'm never 100% on - does the giant thumb emoji mean that the person is trying to tell you the conversation is over?

And here's my thing I wish someone in my life didn't do - put photos of people eating online. They never look good. Why would you do this? Whhyyy?

I don't like the posts asking a question like. 'Does anyone know what time B&Q closes today?' Google it. 'Anyone got the number for Melton infant school' google it... just really don't understand it. The time it takes them to wait for a reply??? JUST. GOOGLE. IT!

I've never heard of the thumbs up sign meaning that a conversation is over. If it does mean that then it has totally gone over my head!

Arg I don't like those things either.

One thing I'm never sure of: how much is too much when it comes to holiday pics?

I have a hatred for the giant thumb that burns like a dozen white hot suns, but maybe that's because it's so often felt like a conversation is being shut down and I've had it wrong all along?

Dont share other people's news before they do - births, marriages and deaths. It's really poor form.

No PA statuses. No checking in at hospital.

Don't write anything down about someone you wouldnt say to their face.

I kinda think that you should post what ever you like (wihin reason). If people don't want to see 500 pics of you on holiday in Blackpool then they can always scroll past that post!

I understand the thumb to mean the person has seen your last message. It sometimes does shut the conversation down a bit but in a good way.

NancyDonahue · 17/09/2018 11:34

I use the thumb an an 'ok that's good' type of meaning as that's what I would do a thumbs up for in real life 👍
