The only way to save the countryside and wildlife is to stop breeding! Its human over population causing all the issues!

I hope it draws lots of attention to the problem. Many people don't even give it a second thought.

"On Saturday, I’ve organised the first People’s Walk For Wildlife in Hyde Park, London, and I am inviting everyone who has any sort of concerns about the health of our landscape and the creatures that live in it.
It’s an invitation to those who may not agree on the detail of how to fix things but who agree that things need fixing. Together we will stand shoulder to shoulder and peacefully ask for change."

I hope it will demonstrate to politicians how much people care about this.

Well field sports enthusiasts are a big part of the countryside and conservation but they won't be going as CP does nothing but insult them!

GhostsToMonsoon · 17/09/2018 14:41

Really Redhound? What good do grouse-shooting or pheasant-shooting do for the countryside?

more in the Guardian today
www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2018/sep/19/manifesto-for-wildlife-uk-countryside-species-biodiversity

"We have specific ideas to fix this too. Today I’m publishing a People’s Manifesto for Wildlife which we will present to the environment secretary, Michael Gove. I asked 17 independent experts to suggest practical, creative and hard-hitting measures to stop the destruction. They’ve amazed me. We’ve produced a manifesto containing nearly 200 ideas to revive British wildlife."

Field sports enthusiasts need to accept that planting up some game cover and looking after hedges doesn't make up for the damage that introductions of millions of non-native birds does for the ecosystem, not to mention the continuing use of lead shot, the targeting of vulnerable species, raptor persecution and wildlife disturbance.
If we need predator control and habitat creation they should be justified by themselves, not as justification for game sports.
And maize as game cover does nothing for wildlife except feed badgers.
