Zoe Ball to takeover from Chris Evans (Radio 2 Breakfast Show)

Either my brain is not yet functioning properly (I blame The Cold), or I just heard Chris Evans say Zoe Ball is taking over the Breakfast Show.

Argh!

That's both ends of the day I won't be listening.

I'm sure Zoe is a lovely lass, but gosh she doesn't half whitter on at a million miles an hour saying nothing. Sara Cox would've been far better.

The 'new Drivetime' is still shit. I only have it on if I've forgotten what time of day it is. So blinking droney. JW is trying, it's not her fault she doesn't suit the time slot, but it's all far too trying.

After being a pretty much life long Radio 2 listener I'm off to poke around the radio stations.

I thought Sara Cox would be a shoe in for CE as she's stood in for him so much so I wonder if she's turned it down because of the early starts with her family ? I like Zoe Ball though. She always comes across as a lovely person. I love her on ITT. Jo Whitney has to go. She's ruined Drivetime. Poor Simon.

Is it me misrembering but didn’t either Zoe or Sara follow on from CE for the morning show in the 90s? Is this history repeating itself?

I’ve had to stop listening to Radio2 entirely it has gone to the dogs.
Is there a decent music station for 35 year olds? Radio 1 is too young, Radio 2 is for my 60yo mum.
I tend to gravitate toward Radio 4 or 6 music but sometimes in the morning I need something a bit peppy and that was what Radio 2 did.

One of the daily rags had a front page suggesting Zoë Ball is rumoured to take over. Chris Evans had Fat Boy Slim on so tried to ask him what he knew.

I'm guessing their divorce was amicable but in what way is it acceptable to ask an ex husband what his ex wife's next career move will be? I wonder if Zoë is ever asked about Norman's next album or gig?

Yeah. I had a lump in my throat when I heard his news. I do hope it works out well for him. I was already, from my own pov, miffed about the move from afternoons. I plan my day around radmac!

Adding, that he's more chipper than many would be with his diagnosis, which includes lymph modes.

I used to listen to Radio 2 before Chris Evans but will go back to in now Zoe Ball is going to be doing it as I really do like her!

Chris Evans heart is in the right place. I remember him giving free drinks to the workers at his local hospital in the 90’s he had a pub I think. And this morning he was really sincere I thought. He’s just too enthusiastic for me but my mother loves him.

Is Zoe definite now? And what's happened to Mark?

Should have been Coxxy, better than Zoe Ball.
However, my recent job shift means I'm on the road too early for Chris; I get Vanessa Feltz, whose show I'm at least 3 generations too young for. IPod it is then.
I liked Jo from Radio 1, and am cool with her and Simon. Unlike Liza Tarbuck's stand. Arrgghh she's irritating. WTF is with that phoney occasional cowgirl accent?!? It's fucking awful.
I like Ken bruce too; but I'm almost never around to hear it. Trevor Nelson is a good stand in there too.
You can always switch to virgin to keep listening to Chris.

I was really hoping it was hoing to be Sara Cox. Not keen on Zoe ball.

I have nothing personal against Zoe, but find her really dully. Sara cracks me up every time I listen to her. I'm afraid I'll be following Chris to Virgin.
