Do you miss the days when your DC were preschoolers?

I am struggling with entertaining DS(2.5) and myself. He does three mornings at nursery but the days are loooooong until we pick up DD from school/activities.

Does anyone actually miss these times? I feel bad for being miserable. I find DS adorable but I am struggling with the amount of childcare I’m doing, I guess.

Not really. I miss how utterly adorable they were and I miss bits of our life back then - we'd pack up on a saturday morning and go off with friends who had kids the same age to parks/walks/zoo/beach with packed lunches and flasks of coffee. Those were some of the nicest weekends ever.

but the minutes went by like hours a lot of the time - especially if I was on my own with them.

I do miss the primary school years - especially the beginning years. Those were magical. Mine are teens/late teens now. They can be a lot of fun as well as very worrying but at least if I want to take a nap, I can do it without someone trying to kill themselves.

Nope. Glad those days of trying to entertain small people with 2 minute attention spans are gone.

I adored the cuddles and being the centre of their world but I didn't have the patience or imagination to be a brilliant mum to toddlers and pre schoolers. Some people are, but if we are honest, most aren't.

The primary years are something to look forward to. I feel like they've come into their own as people and I'm just better with all kids in that age group. And no more play dough.
