Very very boring sorry! But boiler question for you all

Can anyone tell me about saving on energy bills by replacing an old boiler? My boiler is over 20 years old but serviced regularly and apparently in good nick. However it’s noisy and in the colder months my bills are horrendous. I do have 4dc and a big old house but even so.

I know in theory a new more efficient boiler should cut bills but before I spend out I’m hoping to hear how (or if) anyone here has saved? Thank you.

How big are your gas bills? How well insulated is your house?

I am not sure what we saved but our gas bill is paid by monthly direct debit which, I think, was calculated on the old boiler. We are always in credit. It's worth it for the noise reduction. Our old boiler could wake the dead and as it is in the kitchen was very intrusive. New one is lovely and quiet in comparison. Don't get British Gas to do it as they will charge the earth. Get an independent registered corgi gas person to do it as it will be half the cost.

Do it for the noise but not for money saving we changed our 18 year old boiler and my direct debit it's much the same.

Thanks for the replies. The house is fairly well insulated and I’ve had some work done over the summer to add more. I guess it might be worth waiting to see if the insulation helps with the bills as tbh the noise doesn’t really bother us.
