Gravestone care kit

I plan on visiting the graves of my great grandparents which I believe haven't been visited or tended to in a couple of years.

Can you help me build a list of what to take to maintain them? Scissors (shears even?) to cut grass? Biodegradable bags for cuttings? Bleach spray and scrubbing brush for the stone?

It will be a one off trip and I won't be able to nip home to get things I forget!

Won't bleach and brush be too harsh?
We tend to use water and a dusting cloth, but we visit every weekend not sure what it would be like after a year.
Are you planning on planting anything new?
Definitely gloves!!

We take an empty 4pt milk bottle to carry water from the tap and a microfibre cloth.

I would guess if the graves belong to OP's great grandparents then they're probably stone rather than marble, hence the scrubbing brush?
No real ideas OP but watching for ideas

When I visit all mine, I take water, a cloth, a bag to transport clippings and garden clippers. Most have a compost heap and a tap but might not be close. If it's been wet recently, take something to kneel on, e.g. a black bag to pull open so you don't get soaked.

Yeah... Take own bag for rubbish, gloves... Clippers...

Thanks for all the ideas, I really appreciate your input. I have no idea what the gravestones might be made of so I'll take a cloth and brush to cover both eventualities.

Bleach is likely to damage the stones. Washing up liquid will do the job without being corrosive.

we have a gardening set we take. Once it has grass on then the plan is to get a hand held grass cutter. The grass should be being cut but the might not be doing the best job of it.

It depends whats on there really. If there are any artificial flowers the will probably need washing or replacing.
