Should I go to A&E?

DD1 (3yo) has just hurt her arm, called 111 who advised local A&E to rule out a fracture. DH has gone with her in a taxi and plan is for me to follow in our car after I have fed DD2 who is 2 weeks old.
I know that DH is more than capable of caring for DD in A&E (although he is quite squeamish eg if he had to hold her stop for an X-ray I think he may struggle with this) but my gut instinct is to want to go to be there with DD when she is in pain (she is fine when her arm isn't moved but cries if she moves it).
However, am I silly to drag a two week old baby to A&E for a potentially long wait? Should I just stay at home and keep in touch with DH on the phone??

I would stay home tbh. She'll be fine with her dad. Hope she feels better soon

Yes, stay at home. Hospital trips are not a family outing. Your DH and DD will be fine without you. Hope she's feeling better soon.

Honestly I would stay at home. Risk of infection for baby. One of you needs to be a bit rested for when they get home. They are exceptionally good with children at a and e ime.

Stay at home, don't drag a 2 week old in the germ soup that is A&E.

I think keep in touch. Although people are not supposed to go into A&E with infectious diseases I would be worried.

Especially in kids a&e

I'd keep baby at home. It'll be germ soup there. Last thing you need is the baby getting bronchiolitis. Hope your DD mends quickly Flowers

Thanks for the advise! Have stayed at home and DD is now waiting to be triaged and apparently using her arm again and not acting in pain! 🙈 they suspect a dislocated shoulder, would ibuprofen mask that pain or have I just sent her in for nothing?! 😳

Her shoulder may have relocated - I managed to set off in an ambulance with the worst dislocation they had seen to arrive at A and E with it fully back in place, all by itself
Once back in the pain was minimal.

She's just been triaged and that's what they think might have happened! She's going to wait and see the doctor just to be checked but should hopefully be seen soon. Phew! Poor DH and his Saturday night!
