I know if I ring NHS 24 it'll be an inevitable out of hours appt which I'm hoping to avoid if possible! I'm very sore and itchy sore down below. I've got problems there anyway - I self catheterise occasionally as I've an atonic bladder. Have had hundreds of UTIs and kidney infections... in a new flat with a shower like a swimming pool one (i.e. Not a moveable shower head) so I am a bit worried I'm not getting a thorough wash (essential it catheterising) but doing my best!

This doesn't feel like a UTI at all however , more like an intense itching inside the urethra itself. I almost feel like If I could put an catherer in it would soothe it/cool it down. Doesn't feel like thrush either.

I am peeing 4-5 times a day which is normal for me, and passing fairly decent volumes. No obvious bleeding. No blood on catheters.

Can't really afford to charge off to out of hours (£15 in a taxi) so if there's a possible means to sorting this out without a doctor I'd be delighted to hear it !!

Really sorry it's so TMI Blush

Sounds very much like when I once had thrush. Canesten from the chemist sorted it.

Maybe visit a pharmacy and have a word with them?

I'd get a baby bath, or similar, to sit in, if you can't change the shower or bathe.
A friend does this for his daughter, as they only have an overhead shower.

Can you take an antihistamine , it won't cure it but I find it stops the itching.
