I don't have much time for lunch, but I'm bored still with sandwiches.

Any ideas for lunches I can take to work which don't take a lot of time to prepare and aren't too calorie laden?

Wraps instead of sandwiches, just for a change.
Cheese and crackers.
Soup in a flask, or warm up in the microwave if you have one.
Sausage roll or Cornish pasty. I eat them cold, but again could warm up if there's a microwave.
Tuna pasta salad.

Hi, do you have time to prep stuff in the morning / the night before? Can be more expensive than sandwiches but how about things like falafels and houmous + salad or couscous with roasted veg and olive oil? Or can you make / take soup to heat up at work? Or a twist on sandwiches - filled pittas/wraps eg Cajun chicken / salad leaves etc?

Frozen jacket potato (5 min in microwave) and beans

Quorn chicken pieces can be done in the microwave too, could take some flavoured microwave rice and mix it together.

Mugshots/pot noodles are a regular for me at work!

Cous cous with salad and sweetcorn.
Do you have a microwave? If so you can take anything in,make extra of your tea and take some in the next day for lunch.
Mixture of crackers and cheese
Rice pudding
Maggi noodles, don't need microwave just boiling water

I usually have salad from the night before, make extra and put in a box. I then add either half a baked sweet potato and some hummus diluted with water to make a dressing, a piece of cold smoked mackerel (I like the harissa one) or a hard boiled egg.

I normally just make extra tea.

So, if we have curry then DP and I have curry for lunch, same with pasta, risotto or chicken wraps or flatbreads

Here are some of my work lunches:
A packet of the one-portion Tilda pulses range. E.g. www.tesco.com/groceries/en-GB/products/293226810 They're equally as nice cold or hot.
One of the one-portion crustless quiches e.g. www.tesco.com/groceries/en-GB/products/281640912 I heat it up if I feel like it, but more often than not I eat it cold with some green salad that I keep in a bag in the fridge at work.
Sometimes I take a jacket potato that I cooked the previous night and just reheat it in the microwave. I have it with with one of the small one-portions of tinned tuna in tomato sauce. My DH also takes a jacket potato and has it with a snap pot of Heinz beans because he doesn't like fish.
If I have time I'll make this and it lasts a few days in the fridge www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/11690/10minute-couscous-salad It only takes 10 minutes
Rice cakes/oatcakes spread with cream cheese. You can get those little snack pots of Philadelphia.
Cold pizza

I forgot to say that I went through a spell of taking the individual packets of Ryvita/Jacobs Crispbreads/Jacobs Ciabatta to work with a pot of humous, guacamole, salsa, cottage cheese or cream cheese to spread on them.

Salad: leaves, tomatoes, cucumber, gherkins, sun dried tomatoes, beetroot, sweet corn, grated carrot, spring onion. Grated cheese, tuna, egg or chicken for protein. Sprinkle of mixed seeds. Balsamic dressing or glaze. I sometimes add an avocado at work. I would maybe have a thin bagel or similar with it.

Homemade soup in a soup flask:
Roast tomato and pepper
Lentil, carrot
Sweet potato and squash
Thai chicken noodle
Loads of recipes online. I make it on a Sunday and have Mon and Tues in the autumn and winter. Can freeze extra also

Loads of ideas, thank you everyone! These should keep me going. Smile
