Does anyone buy anything off Wowcher?

I'm always getting emails from them and the products seem really random-panties, pressure washer, camel coat, push up bikini etc. Has anyone bought stuff like that from their deals?

I bought an indoor lemon tree. Didn't even remember doing it when it turned up at the door, it's a nice tree, and very cheap, not much more to say! DP is always looking at the mini break offers, and I occasionally have a browse of the other things, it must have been a bleary eyed random late night purchase!

I got a mattress and a double sun lounger both bargains.

I’ve been gifted things from there like meals for two and a sports massage. They are ok, but not really worth the money; for example the meal for two was in a try hard restaurant and we got the cheap menu options, and the sports massage I could only redeem on Tuesdays, weds, and Thursdays from 3pm-5pm Hmm

I bought some trees from them. They were much smaller than advertised and half dead. Wowcher refused to refund me. I find that a lot of their products seem to have artificially inflated prices and you can buy them at the same ‘discount’ rate through amazon or similar.

I have emails offering tea for two or for reduced derma fillers etc

Those whom have used them . Do you pay up front and then get the discount tickets ? Do they mail them to be printed off ? I have never taken up an offer so curious.

Brought my wedding package from there best thing I ever did!!! Saved me a good 15k

OddestSock · 14/09/2018 09:27

We bought a family ticket for a theme park cheaply, and some cheap soft play entries for a good soft play place near us.

I use groupon more, but I’ve generally been happy with what I’ve had from both sites.

Cinema tickets. 5 for £20. Wish I'd bought more.
My mattress. Best mattress ever.
I love having a nosy through the deals. Some of them are odd though. My sister's friend bought a professional MAC make-up lesson with a free gift and a cocktail thrown in. It was at some girls high rise flat, the place stank of weed and her cocktail was one of those premade in a can things from Asda.Grin Apparently the girl giving the lesson was really good though and she learned some really snazzy techniques. When she asked about the free gift the girl said she ran out but gave her a lift home instead.

I got a hose pipe, some Harry Potter wand make up brushes and a couple of afternoon teas. All went fine and were pretty good value.

I'm not sure what my selection of purchases says about me... Hmm

MakeYourOwnFuckingTea · 14/09/2018 09:34

We also got 90% off entrance to a local farm where kids can feed the animals and ride in the trailer of a tractor. I bought them on the off chance and it was a fab day out.

EleanorRoseM · 14/09/2018 09:37

Days out and experiences are great value.

However I have found often (not always) the products are poor quality or could actually be bought more cheaply elsewhere.

MakeYourOwnFuckingTea · 14/09/2018 09:50

I agree Elanor. When they were offering a generic/unknown brand handheld steam cleaner for £9 and claiming it was £65 originally I had to laugh. I'd seen the exact same one on eBay for the same price. When I posted it on the fb page it was removed swiftly. I know how they do it. As long as that item was for sale for that price even for a day and nobody bought it they can say that's the original price.

Shednik · 14/09/2018 09:52

I bought an ipad. It's absolutely fine and a bargain.

myusernameisnotmyusername · 14/09/2018 17:33

@Unicornandbows that sounds brilliant. 15k is a lot of money though Hmm. I would want to spend less than that in the first place! Do they still have those kind of deals do you know.
I've also been wondering how it works with the deals for days out etc. I've also thought the garden furniture deals look good but not sure how good the product is.

The venue offered to do the ceremony. Lunch and dinner including Dj and decor and a night stay for 2.5k

The venues around me if I had to book individually would have come up to a hell of a lot more for 100-150 guests. They also provided reception drinks and they allowed me to bring my own juice.

The rest was at the bar. I got a dream wedding for the fraction of the price.

There are many good deals just have a look what you are interested in and read the terms and conditions x
