It woke me up. I was confused and thought the dog had got upstairs.
It was coming from behind the chest of drawers SadConfused
Woke DP up (who was asleep in spare room)
He's checked and can't find anything there... lying here in terror now.
I'm either going mad and hearing things
Or there's a creature behind my chest of drawers.
Ah oh Confused

Mice can get through a space the diameter of a biro, rats need a broom handle.
Utter sympathy. Do not ignore just because you can’t see it. Is anywhere on the drawers chewed?
Make sure air bricks are covered with mesh. Block possible access areas with wire wool.
A good pest controller would help but you can get good quality bait from Amazon. Good luck.

Feel your pain OP, used to live in a flat that was a magnet for mice. Today go buy some wire wool and start stuffing into any little holes around the walls and skirting

Get some humane traps and put chocolate (flake works well) in them.

Mouse = mice

FrameyMcFrame · 14/09/2018 18:54

Thanks, off to BnQ now to get some traps or something. Will get the wire woolt to block holes too.

Thanks

Really hope they've at least gone out of my bedroom.

Haven't found anything else chewed up yet... but there are loads of spare bed linen stored under my bed and folded duvets in the wardrobe. That's the sort of places they like.

Mice? Beetles? Psychotic someone tunnelling in from next door, thinks he's in Colditz?

You will soon know if you have mice, they leave things behind. Beetles are more difficult to trace.

Have a good clean and spray the area with anti-insect stuff (Amiral is good), then wait to see if it happens again.
