Should a picnic blanket be placed plastic up, or fleece up?

Dp and I disagree. Which is right?

Fwiw, I'm fleece up.

I kind of get his logic but if that was the case they'd just make them plastic on both sides.

What did he think the fleece was for?

PhilomenaButterfly · 13/09/2018 21:26

Fleece up.

ItsJustASimpleLine · 13/09/2018 21:26

@JuiceBoxMonster clearly.to warm the ground lol

Ohyesiam · 13/09/2018 21:27

I think he said something silly and now can’t admit it. That or he’s a properly foolish fool.

YouWereRight · 13/09/2018 21:27

He reckons the fleece is on the underside to soften the ground, because sitting on the soft bit would be too easy Grin

I knew that was going to be the reasoning for plastic up.

This isn't one of these situations where there's two ways, like cream teas and debating if jam or cream should go on first. There is only one way, and it's FLEECE UP.

IdaDown · 13/09/2018 21:30

Who’d want to sit on sweaty plastic

SassitudeandSparkle · 13/09/2018 21:30

Fleece up! The plastic is the waterproof layer that goes next to the ground, not next to the picnic imagines OP reclining on blanket with open wicker hamper next to her

delphguelph · 13/09/2018 21:30

Fleece.

Seafoodeatit · 13/09/2018 21:31

Fleece obviously, are you sure your OH isn't trying to wind you up?

BeeFarseer · 13/09/2018 21:33

@IdaDown, you might be onto something there. Nudist picnickers might go plastic up.

MulticolourMophead · 13/09/2018 21:34

Fleece up, of course.

Fooferella · 13/09/2018 21:37

You need a brug. Either side up!

fruitbrewhaha · 13/09/2018 21:37

And is the fleece a pretty pattern for the worms to enjoy?

inquiquotiokixul · 13/09/2018 21:37

Your dh is bonkers

If he wants a wipe-clean surface, he wants a plastic groundsheet not a picnic blanket.

Saggital · 13/09/2018 21:52

Is he Australian OP?

eggncress · 13/09/2018 22:05

What does he plan to do that requires him to sit on plastic? Grin Is he a messy eater and plastic is easy for hosing down?

IdaDown · 14/09/2018 06:38

Beefarseer Grin

Galvantula · 14/09/2018 06:40

Fleece up of course.

Galvantula · 14/09/2018 06:45

Also if the dc spilled their drink plastic side up, they'd be sitting in a puddle. This kind of happens anyway the fleece isn't v absorbent, if you wipe it quickly you can save it. Grin

RealJudas · 14/09/2018 07:03

(by the way, cream then jam, hth)
*runs away

pilates · 14/09/2018 07:10

You’re right

BrickByBrick · 14/09/2018 07:18

Growing up we had a green groundsheet for picnics. It would get hot and sticky.

Fleece up all the time.

FermatsTheorem · 14/09/2018 07:39

I lived in the west-country for a while. Feelings run deep on this one. Wink

RealJudas · 14/09/2018 07:53

I have a lot of Devonian blood in me..... But even if I didn't it makes sense because the cream is acting like a butter replacement and you wouldn't put that on top of your jam would you.....
