Two of my friends have done this. I'm ignoring it as it'll be one of those silly "awareness" things surely?

Not as annoying as "I'm going to Las Vegas to be a stripper!" then when you commenyt you get some stupid response about making up your own status based on your birthday and the colour of your pants.

FurryDogMother · 13/09/2018 17:20

Yeah, it's an awareness thing, I got it in Messenger from someone I know, and happily ignored it.

PolkerrisBeach · 13/09/2018 17:21

It's a shite "awareness" campaign if you're not actually aware why people are doing it...

ana18 · 13/09/2018 17:28

I'm shocked !

Shit awareness campaign ????

You maybe haven't lost anyone to it . So your lucky , however to dismiss it as a shit awareness !

Many people when grieving or have known someone to have past from the issue find it upsetting to be dimissed as "shit awareness"

Complete lack of respect for anyone to say what has just been said I can understand someone questioning what it means but knowing it and making a joke of it ! God bless you I hope you never have the loss that many people have suffered.

Namechangeforthiscancershit · 13/09/2018 17:30

Errr I think what was meant is it is not a very good awareness campaign if no one who is supposed to be being made aware knows what it is. No one is saying it’s awareness of shit...

exLtEveDallas · 13/09/2018 17:30

Loss to what exactly? It's certainly shite awareness if you don't know what you are supposed to be aware of Grin

Could be any number of illnesses or diseases, there are a fucking load out there.

FloralBunting · 13/09/2018 17:30

It's not a very good awareness campaign if no one know what they are now supposed to be aware of, though, is it?

FloralBunting · 13/09/2018 17:31

All the snap cross posting, lol.

ChatNicknameAlreadyInUse · 13/09/2018 17:31

With all due respect if people are having to ask what the heart is for it's not really raising awareness.

When I get asked to post it yet again I post the link on how to check yourself for lumps instead. Much more informative and awareness raising.

SunnySomer · 13/09/2018 17:31

But ana - if nobody knows what the heart represents then it’s not really getting its messsge across, is it? I’m another who doesn’t know...

WomanWithAltitude · 13/09/2018 17:31

Ana - nobody is mocking or being nasty about whatever condition the campaign is about (I haven't seen it and don't know).

They are just pointing out that if nobody can figure out what the campaign is about, it's not very effective at raising awareness.

MadMaryBoddington · 13/09/2018 17:32

ana18 these things do nothing to raise awareness. It’s just virtue signalling.

PattiStanger · 13/09/2018 17:33

Why don't you tell us what it's for ana18, turn a shot campaign into a better one.

Racecardriver · 13/09/2018 17:33

Yep, not much of an awareness campaign if it doesn't actually raise awareness.

gamerchick · 13/09/2018 17:34

You maybe haven't lost anyone to it . So your lucky , however to dismiss it as a shit awareness

So what's it for then?

Minnie747 · 13/09/2018 17:34

Wow quite an overreaction. I think the Op meant it could be more educational/better understood (or infact actually understood at all by anyone outside of those “in the know”) if it held some information not just emojis. Which I agree with.

I’ts pretty evident the op didn’t mean raising awareness was shit!

PortiaCastis · 13/09/2018 17:36

It's Nationsl sepsis day so maybe that's something to do with the hearts

PolkerrisBeach · 13/09/2018 17:39

Quite obviously it's not an awareness of shit campaign. That would be odd.

But an awareness campaign should, you know, raise awareness. Posting cryptic hearts isn't raising awareness of anything, because NOBODY KNOWS WHAT IT MEANS.

OP posts:
InProgress · 13/09/2018 17:47

I read that as an awareness campaign about poo. Then I thought Ana was joining in the jest rather than the top trumps type post written to put the OP back in her box.

Oh well might as well crack open the Wine

Pips841 · 13/09/2018 17:51

It's suicide awareness day..

kierenthecommunity · 13/09/2018 17:56

Complete lack of respect for anyone to say what has just been said

See, I thought it was a complete lack of respect when there was the ‘im X amount of weeks and craving Y’ version of this ‘raising awareness.’ Having just had a second failed IVF and trying to be sporting and congratulation the poster, then find out it was all a hilarious ‘spoof’ did not make me want to donate money or anything else to the specific charity

PolkerrisBeach · 13/09/2018 17:56

It's suicide awareness day..

No - that was 10th September. I did see posts on that day about the topic but most were highlighting services and charities working in the field.

OP posts:
OddBoots · 13/09/2018 18:01

If is is for sepsis awareness then it is a good cause but a rather useless way to go about it.

ana18 · 13/09/2018 18:01

It's for heart failure hence the heart emoji

Unless you have lost someone I guess it's not an issue to you but for many it is and should be treated with slightly more respect then attacking someone who is grieving

AlanBrazil · 13/09/2018 18:01

Of course it’s a shit awareness campaign. I’ve read the thread and still don’t know what ‘it’ is!

ana18 · 13/09/2018 18:02

Ok so the options with a heart is ? The number one killer ? What else does it stand for !
