Going to a friends wedding next weekend, do you think I should still order buttonhole and corsage for handbag as I always did few years ago? Do most guests still buy there own, thinking will look underdressed and like don't know how to look for the occasion if I don't buy them.

In Scotland and at a wedding last weekend and they are very much still a thing. I had a wrist corsage,
As did a lot of the other women

They just said they'd be a bit offended if we hadn't gone to the effort, they said they thought it was the done thing!

It's to be a lavish affair, she's an only child and her dad is funding it

Glad to be covered, nervous about going with all of these rules she's specifying at the last minute. Away to buy another present too....

My god they sound like hard work. They could stick their present up their arse along with the corsage.
Where are you OP? I've been to weddings up and down the country and never come across this.

Iamagreyhoundhearmeroar · 14/09/2018 12:16

Ah now, come on... Someone was called out on their sub standard present and dispatched to buy a more suitable one? No way.

travelinterest · 14/09/2018 13:11

North Scotland, never mind. Will just make sure I drink enough to make up for all this hassle!
