Was wondering whether anyone has been in previous years and, if so, if you have any tips/useful info? I’m taking my adult DSis tomorrow. She has additional needs (from traumatic brain injury but the easiest way to explain them is to say that people often assume she has asd/Aspergers).
Looking at photos on the website, it seems a good proportion of it might be outside? It’s just helpful to have preparatory chats today about how it will be, what to where, what we might eat etc. Any info welcome!

I’ve been the last 3 years. They have got worse. It used to be mainly crafts but this year at bowood house it was mainly food stalls.

The shopping tent is very busy and crowded but it gets quieter in the late afternoon. Are you doing any workshops? They are busy and you need to book them as soon as you get there as they sell out quickly. The Mollie Makes tent usually has a tea shop and some makes you can sit and do.

Are you catching the train? If so it’s a 5 minute walk away. I don’t know about parking as I have never drove there.

My other tip is to take a rucksack with water as food and drink is expensive. £8 for strawberries and cream! It is all ‘artisan’ food and drink. The toilets are nicer than normal portaloos. I would also take a shopping bag. Oh and wear comfortable shoes.

Don’t expect to see Kirsty as she stays in her tent surrounded by security unless you have paid to see her.

It’s a great atmosphere and the make and takes are good. Have fun.

Oh I forgot to say take some cash as some stalls don’t have card machines.

I’ve just looked at the weather for tomorrow in London and it’s meant to be warm. The tents can get very hot in the heat and with the amount of bodies in there so I would wear layers that you can slip off.

My advice would be don't take your iPad Wink

Thanks Lollypop. We booked various workshops when we paid for the tickets and I am driving because DSis otherwise we’d have to cross London via tube, which she wouldn’t handle. The food/tent news is v helpful.

Boyskeepswinging I have booked in for a “Make Your own iPad from Origami” workshop and a “Knit Your Own iPad” macrame class. Grin
