A colleague has it, took the meds early and says she's fine to be at work. Doctor didn't sign her off.
According to the NHS, you can't catch shingles from someone with shingles but you can catch chicken pox. Chicken pox can be dangerous in pregnancy or for those with compromised immune systems (e. g. under going chemotherapy).
So there a huge fuss. We have one pregnant woman (who has had chicken pox, so imo is making a fuss for the fuss' sake) but we also have a man who's wife is undergoing chemo.
Who is the onus on? Should the shingles stay away?
Should the pregnancy/husband stay away (on what grounds? I. E they're not "sick").
Should work be insisting on one or the other?
Or is it just one of those things and a chance we take in the working world, after all you don't know what bugs you come into contact with at the supermarket etc?
Thankfully it won't be my decision, but I just wondered what everyone thinks "should" happen
