Night out in Birmingham

Anyone who knows Birmingham, can you recommend anywhere for a night out on Friday that won't be full of 18yr olds?

There will be me and DP, both 50 but both like pubs/bars. I don't mind loudish music playing so not after a quiet romantic night but don't want to go somewhere and find that I am the oldest swinger in town Grin

Any recommendations will be much appreciated, we are staying in the city centre.

Revolution vodka bar on broad street is good. More of a bar, but there is music. Usually a range of ages and good drinks :) highly recommend the strawberry woo woo :)

I think we are staying near Broad street so will look out for that one, cheers!

Brindley Place has lots of restaurants and bars, and is lovely- right by the canal.

Revolution on Broad St. Cocktails are lovely and if you buy their loyalty card thing then you get 2for1 on Cocktails and a reduction on food.

The Alchemist on Snow Hill for mad cocktails; the Jam House on St Paul's Square for music and dancing.

40 St Paul’s is lovely. Amazing cocktail specialists.

The Botanist is great if a little quirky.

Bacchus Bar is really unusual and a great atmosphere.

If you’re looking for really chilled out and fun check out the Digbeth Dining Club. Lovely fun friendly atmosphere, lots of old games consoles to play, fuseball table etc plus amazing street food.

I’d recommend the Old Jointstock, it’s my favourite bar in Birmingham. Revolution bars are ok, but they are on every high street up and down the country and can be full of very young people in my experience!

Thanks for the suggestions so far, I will check them out.

user147... Brindley Place is my plan for Thursday evening and NotExactlyHappy I've already booked a table at the Botanist for Friday night so need somewhere for afterwards Grin Glad to see I have picked some places that are now being recommended though!

Ghetto Golf in Digbeth is fun.... indoor crazy golf with cocktails and next to Digbeth Dining Club.
There is also a gin bar on the canal... you can walk to it from the Mailbox.

Ahhh I see Bacchus has been mentioned. Have great memories of that place!

cindersrella · 12/09/2018 22:21

I love B@1 bar and the jam house.
There's a mix of people in those I have always found

NotExactlyHappyToHelp · 12/09/2018 22:34

Are you still in Brum on Sunday? The Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery are opening their collections centre for one day only. It’s a real treasure trove and it’s free entry!

The Jam House is a must! Fab music, fab atmosphere never had a bad night there

cindersrella · 12/09/2018 22:44

Live bands!

cindersrella · 12/09/2018 22:45

It does get busy! You have to go when it opens or prebook tickets I think we have done before
