12 week personal trainer programs?

Firstly I'm not sure if I've used the correct version of programmes/programs. Happy to be corrected if it's bothering anyone though.

I'm struggling a bit with losing the baby weight. It came off fairly easily with my other kids but with number 4 it's just not shifting. I had an email about one of those 12 weeks 'transform' programmes with a personal trainer and I was wondering if anyone had done anything similar and what your thoughts are? Basically I want to know if it's worth the money or if I'm better off just committing to three gym classes a week?

My main thoughts at the minute are pros: if I've paid the money, I'll be more inclined to go and I think I'd benefit from a professional helping me get back into shape.
Cons: it's quite expensive. I struggled with my weight a lot in my teens. About 15 years ago I got my weight under control through good old healthy eating & running and saw the diet industry for what it was. I promised I wouldn't give another penny of my money to that industry, so I think this would be going against that somewhat.

For what it's worth, no one's putting any pressure on me to lose weight or anything, but I enjoy exercising. I usually run but dh is in a very high pressured job and I've found that if I just plan in a run something will always come up. So if I say I'm running tonight that'll be fine, until I'm about to get ready then he'll ask if I can maybe run tomorrow night because he has x,y or z to do for work and can't put the kids to bed, so I end up missing it. I just feel if it's paid for and pencilled in for a specific time then it'll have to take priority.

Also if it matters, this one isn't promising a set amount of weight loss or anything like that, just 12 weeks to get you back into shape.

I'm a personal trainer. I won't work with anyone who wants to lose weight and isn't committed to changing their diet first and foremost. I don't want clients wasting money on a PT if they won't change their diet so won't hit their goal. Exercise isn't good for weight loss. Spend the money and energy on fixing your diet

There's a gym near me that regularly runs a 6/8 week programme and I've been thinking about signing up. The one that mine is doing talks about nutrition as well.

At the end of the day if you're not putting on weight now and are maintaining your current weight then surely 3 proper exercise sessions per week are going to see a loss?

I always find that once I'm in that fitness zone my diet automatically improves anyway.

  1. Sort your diet
  2. Download the Kayla Itsines BBG plan
