Currently on maternity with my little girl but extremely bored throughout the day. Weather isn’t great so just wondering if anyone can suggest anything?

Put her in a sling, go wherever you fancy.

I’ve got a car & pram I’m thinking activities, mother & baby groups? It’s not the case of not being able to get places.

The hoop app is good for finding baby activities near you

Jadeylou1993 · 12/09/2018 13:26

Oh thanks I’ll download the app now!

Manchester Mums facebook page is quite good but you should also have a local group depending on where you live. I've just moved and found the local mum/parents groups really useful and have started going to a local baby group.

Also look for your local children's centre as they have lots of groups.

I've just requested to join Manchester mums. I went into my local community centre and I was the only fluent English speaking woman so found it really difficultSad.

Whereabouts in Manchester are you? Have you tried mumsnet local board?
I used to go to the Trafford centre and window shop and drink coffee!
Ikea in Ashton has an NCT group that meet one day a week - they did anyway! Worth checking out if that’s still running.

Elmwood Cafe is a very friendly place if you are anywhere near enough. It is on Friday mornings during term time and lots of mum's with babies and toddlers come.
There is a carpark on site too. It is run by the church but has no religious content.

Do you get a postnatal course through your health visitor? Don’t live in Manchester but did mine when baby was about 6 weeks old and made lovely friends who I then saw weekly through my maternity leave (and still see now!).

SandysMam · 12/09/2018 14:12

What I meant to add was ask your health visitor!

TheTurnOfTheScrew · 12/09/2018 14:15

Lots of churches offer baby and toddler groups, and you don't need to be the slightest bit churchy to go. If you let us know roughly whereabouts you are, I'm sure someone can PM you about something local.

Scotinoz · 12/09/2018 14:28

The Witworth does baby sensory sessions I believe, but to be honest, at 5 weeks it's all about what you want to do!!

If I had my time again, I'd have a potter around museums, drink a lot more coffee, go to the cinema more, walks at national trust...

Jadeylou1993 · 12/09/2018 14:28

I'm not far from St Mary's hospital I'll keep a check on Facebook thanks

Oh, and there's a cafe in a church in Didsbury which is full of mums and babies...and had delicious cake 😊

Jadeylou1993 · 12/09/2018 14:30

Could do none of them are far from me! Thanks a lot I will have a look
