Don't want to go to hospital :(

I know I'm being a big baby, and I've eaten and showered thoroughly, but I have to catch a train shortly to a town I don't know for yet more internal tests.

They've been very good and I appreciate the help but I just don't want to go :(

I feel like just curling up and not going anywhere

sending you lots of sympathy

I'm writing this from a hospital bed, and i don't want to be here either

LanguidLobster · 12/09/2018 11:38

Oh I'm sorry @coldrain2018 are you in for long? Flowers

Line's an outpatient one today, I'm just being childish and grumpy

No one likes hospitals LL. I fainted once in hospital and I was only visiting a friend! Good luck

WhatWouldLeslieKnopeDo · 12/09/2018 12:25

You can do this :) I fully understand the temptation to run away though. I find it easier to just tell myself I have absolutely no choice. Then I don't waste mental energy trying to get out of it.

I hope that your appointment goes well Flowers do you have any treats lined up for afterwards?

I'm seeing my oncologist later so I'm hoping it might involve a detour to the ice cream shop on the way home Grin

I was chatting with a nursing Sister once. She said no one likes being in hospital unless they are really ill. So your feelings are perfectly normal.

Good luck.

WhatWouldLeslieKnopeDo · 12/09/2018 12:27

coldrain Flowers I don't know what your situation is so don't want to just say "get well soon" in case that's not appropriate, but sending you good wishes and hoping you have some good distractions and no annoying fellow patients!

Have some FlowersFlowersFlowers

And here’s some BrewCakeWine for later.

LanguidLobster · 12/09/2018 17:20

Thank you @DowntonCrabby and Leslie Grin

I shouldn't have gone actually, I made a right tit of myself. Apparently anaemic and they think pre cancerous and the doctor was asking me if I wanted to ever have children which put me on the spot horribly.

I fled when they were trying to do more tests so have to go back soon, doctor seemed decidedly annoyed with me.

I'm going to get some wine and phone a friend and destress!

Sorry I missed your update. That's a bugger. Well, at least pre-cancerous means they've caught it early and can deal with it preemptively. But still not exactly fun!

Anaemia is rubbish so I hope they treat that quickly. You should feel much better once it's under control :)

Good luck with the rest of your tests Flowers I know it's scary having tests but whatever is happening is happening either way. The tests will enable them to identify and treat it. Very few health problems disappear of their own accord, sadly Flowers (I'm not trying to be flippant, I promise. I have cancer myself so I do understand the temptation to run away and hide!)

LanguidLobster and WhatWouldLeslieKnopeDo - blessings and good wishes to both of you.

Languid, you must have those tests - you know that. As soon as a definitive diagnosis is made you can be treated and you may be quite well before long. On the other hand, there may be nothing much wrong with you and it will be good to know that.

I hope there is someone in your life to support you. xx

@LanguidLobster and @WhatWouldLeslieKnopeDo = sending best wishes and hand holds to both of you
