How do I stop the shower curtain going mouldy?

Shower curtain seems to get mouldy quicker each time I clean it!
Just put up a new one. DH always pushes it back to let the shower walls dry, but this means the curtain doesn't dry as well.
How often should I wash it? Replace it? How can I keep it mould free as long as possible?

I so agree about not using mold and mildew spray. So bad for the environment. I wash mine regularly. And if they get so bad on the bottom, I cut it untill it's getting too short. I hate waste. And I won't buy pvc. I get Peva.

Wow, wash and dry every few days?! Buying a new one every few weeks?

Mad.

I spray a bit of mould and mildew round the bottom when it looks a bit murky, and bung it in the washing machine every 2 months or so. Always leave open to dry too

Congrats on your shiny new curtain, OP! Grin

Was this really worth reviving a 4 year old thread to share? Grin

OP I hope after all this time you’ve seen the light and got a shower screen!
