Urgent help with present for Australia trip needed, please! Coffee shop / deli chain / supermarket voucher?

I have been invited to an acquaintance's birthday party later today, all very last minute so haven't got a present for her. Acquaintance is leaving for a few months of travel around Australia next week.

I don't want to give her stuff she hasn't got use / space in her suitcase for, plus most shops are closed around here on a Sunday anyways, so very limited choice of what I could buy.
I thought a voucher she can use in Australia might be nice. A quick google tells me that coffee shop chains don't seem to be all that popular in Australia and the few that do exist look a bit down-market in the pictures. Is there anything like Pret or maybe a 'naice' supermarket chain that sells vouchers online? Any other ideas gratefully received!

When I was last in Australia (and this was quite a few years ago now!), I seem to remember there were lots of smoothie and frozen yoghurt shops. You could try a Boost Juice / Smoothie gift card maybe?

Or maybe get some Australian Dollars?

Honestly a lot depends on state/city and as you say they are travelling around, I would just get some Aussie dollars for them and a token gift. A voucher for a specific place might be a faff for them to use or get lost/forgotten about.

If you are fixed on the idea of an upmarket cafe chain voucher and they are going to Adelaide, I think you can buy vouchers for Cibo which fits the bill.

Actually I'm not sure if Boost would work as it looks like a physical gift card that they mail out rather than email.

Many thanks, Friolero and namechange!

Unfortunately I don't even know her itinerary but will call a friend and try to find out more. If all else fails I may go down the Australian Dollar route. I generally don't like giving cash and would feel a bit silly because this acquaintance is much better off than me, but point taken re vouchers being too much faff.

What about a voucher for something she can use while she's there? Like a massage or similar?

Australian coffee chains vary wildly by quality & most are in shopping centres so she may have to go out of her way to spend it - a lot of people just get $2 coffees from the convenience store or go to their local coffee shop

Depending on how much you want to spend, something like a voucher for a pair of RM Williams boots (about £300) or Ugg boots (usually at least £50+) from Ugg Australia could be useful

And you can get Myer gift cards or from Woolworths which she can use at different shops (eg at Myer which is a department store and Coles the supermarket chain, or at Woolworths the supermarket or Liquorland to buy booze)
