Need a new current account - would you recommend yours?

I am looking to change my bank account from RBS, I am fed up with their bad customer service.
The problem is that there seem so many new current accounts to chose from - would you recommend yours and if so, what do you like about it?

First Direct are great. You get straight through to a person when you phone, no messing around with option 1,2 etc and the App is much easier to use than the RBS one.

I've been a happy Halifax customer for years. I have the reward account that pays you £3 a month, I think you have to have £750 minimum going into the account each month and at least 2 direct debits.

I’m with Nationwide and I highly reccomend them. I’ve always been able to talk to a person within 5 minutes and they have the loveliest call centre staff.

I upgraded my account on the phone about a month ago and while the computer was ticking away doing its upgrading wizardry I had such a nice chat to the customer service assistant. My DP thought I was on the phone to a friend.

The app is simple and easy too.

I've been with first direct for years and always recommend them. Excellent service

I am with first direct too and wouldn’t switch elsewhere.

Another vote for Santander 123. To get the best out of it, it's best to treat it like a current and savings account combined, so might not work if you are of the 'I must spend all the money in my current account' mindset.

£5 amonth fee, but you should get that and more back from the cashback (we get about £4.50 a month and our bills are lower than average - less than £20 between us for mobile phone costs, band A council tax, no pay TV - people with higher bills would get more cashback).

Plus you get 1.5% interest on up to £20k and last time I looked, you couldn't get that rate anywhere else for instant access. Internet access and app seems fine, no complaints.

First Direct

Love them!

santander for a bit of.cash. Their web site is less bad than others - the hsbc group ones are all clunky and slow, while Barclays and Tesco have theirs cluttered with pointless himbo/bimbo pics which get in the way.

not TSB , despite their lies their app and website.still have major faults and your.money and data will be at risk.
