At junior school when I knew that playtime was replaced with the whole-school punishment of practising lining up, I asked my teacher if I could stay in the classroom and finish my work, as I was enjoying it so much. She was bemused, but agreed. Victory!

Another time, I was supposed to have missed my play, but I sneaked out anyway. Clearly I valued my playtime!

My Mum dishing up revolting boiled liver as a meal. We had to sit there until we'd finished it. Used to take me at least an hour I remember chewing on a piece for ages with it getting dryer and dryer. One reason why I will never force my kids to eat food I know they don't like.
My brother loved the liver but hated the carrots....As soon as Mum went out of the room he threw his carrots on my plate and I threw my liver in his direction. Both very smug that she never seemed to notice.

Pretending to be asleep in the back of the car on long journeys so I could listen in to all the adult conversations!
