If you work part time, what do you do with your spare time?

I've gone down to three days a week this week and I'm so excited! Lots of people have asked me what I'm going to do on my days off as if it's a bad thing, and yesterday a friend said be careful you don't waste your time on housework, cooking etc.

So, what do you do to fill your time?

I do house admin, especially all the phone calls etc, cleaning, shopping, gardening. I also spend time with my mum and dad which is nice and completely different to seeing them with the children there. I also do an exercise class once a week, and always treat myself to watching TV whilst eating a lazy lunch.

My DTD's have just started school and I'm about to move from working 3 days a week to 4. On my days previously with them we would go to classes or to the park / activities with them and also do general errands. The focus was around doing stuff with them rather than housework / admin etc. Now they're at school I'll use my day at home to sort out the house and generally be more organised so we can spend our weekends pottering around and having fun.

Reading, netflix, eating cake, walking dogs. As little housework as I can get away with.

I only work two days a week normally and my kids are teenagers. But it means I can run them around to jobs, appointments and generally just be around. I love it. I do bursts of full-time every year to boost the coffers.
