Gift box for friend after an op. Suggestions please!

Hi all,

I'm making up my friend a gift box of goodies for after her upcoming op - a full hysterectomy if that's relevant.

I have the usual ideas of magazines, chocs etc but I'm wondering if anyone can think of anything slightly different. Or if anyone has had a hysterectomy, what would you have been grateful of during your recuperation?

Glad you took the laxatives suggestion ok OP, I was doing copy and paste from my main reply

Reminding her to get some in advance is good as painkillers, surgery etc can all impact on the bowel and straining is not good if constipated esp after an operation.

Part of the reason I keep it on the list is its not until the person is in pain from constipation that sometimes they realise they need something and most definitely after most shops and chemists shut within reach of them, not that they are able to go out easily at that time

While not a treat per se, we all know the relief solving that problem can have - which is handy to keep on hand.
