Came out of my house to find this

Parking is a bit of a nightmare in my area due to no alllocated on street parking and few driveways, anyway somebody was parked outside my house and there was no other room on the street when I arrived home at 12 last night so I parked further up the road and came out at 7 this morning to find this! Technically I am a resident and it isn't even residents parking only, there is no residents parking! There were about 3 stickers all on my window screen that I had to peel off, I forgot to take a pick before I angrily removed them hence why it is on my steering wheel. I'm swinging between finding it funny and being furious.

Dashcam and then stick the video on youtube. :)

A quick Google shows that this appears to be the company that sells the stickers: www.obscenitycards.com/resident-parking-only-you-stickers

If you find out who it is maybe buy these ones and write "I am a fucking resident you" above the word twat, then stick it on their car. :)

At that time of night/morning I would have been leaning on the horn for quite a long time. No-one has the 'right' to park outside their own property and unless officially mandated there is no such thing as 'residents only' parking.

yoghurtbinger · 05/09/2018 16:45

I agree with others, you need to report this to the police. You have every right to park there, and they are damaging your car.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 05/09/2018 16:48

Dh parked less than 100 yards from our house on side street, first time in over 3 years, full litre tub of pva glue on his windscreen!!

This is shocking! Surely that's criminal damage? I'd be tempted o respond with a bit of my own by squirting superglue into their door lock.

Rebecca36 · 05/09/2018 17:01

I'd be terribly upset by something like that. It is not normal for such foul language to be used. I think I'd report it someone, I don't know who.

itsaboojum · 05/09/2018 17:19

It’s certainly a far cry from the news item I just saw. An ambulance crew in Faversham found a note on their vehicle saying, "you’re blocking our drive.... no worries, buy a coffee when you can." With a £10 note attached. Smile

Perhaps your neighbours should be made aware they are committing criminal damage. For the record, nobody has a 'right' to park anywhere on the public highway, but it's certainly not a matter of personal rights over the spot outside one's own house.

TeddyIsaHe · 05/09/2018 17:26

itsaboojum I was about to get furious and then read the end of that, how lovely! Now how do we make everyone else be as calm and kind as that? Imagine how lovely everyday would be!

VelociraptorRex · 05/09/2018 17:31

@SchadenfreudePersonified me too, however I'm told that a locksmith can just dissolve superglue, the thing to do is put cooked spaghetti in the lock - nothing gets that stuff out Grin

VelociraptorRex · 05/09/2018 17:32

@itsaboojum that's lovely, I wish more people were like that.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 05/09/2018 18:27

Thank you Velociraptor

Is it not hard to thread into the lock?

CottonSock · 05/09/2018 18:31

I'd report it. I had neighbour with parking rage last year, and the pcso rang me and offered to have a word. Guess you need to identify them though

VelociraptorRex · 06/09/2018 17:17

@SchadenfreudePersonified no idea with a car lock I have to admit (a locksmith informed me of this trick when I was at university and someone had put superglue in the locks in halls!), you'd probably just have to mash it in there and hope nobody spotted you doing it!

SchadenfreudePersonified · 06/09/2018 17:33

Thanks Velociraptor - I might put it in the blender and try injecting it - er, purely in the interests of science, of course.

VelociraptorRex · 06/09/2018 17:53

@SchadenfreudePersonified I think we have found a niche in the market - we need to include handy hints on how to do the perfect diagram too Grin

Sorry10 · 06/09/2018 18:02

I don't know why people get so bloody aggressive due to parking .
As long as you're not blocking someone in or across someone's drive you can park where you want . I remember I complained to a neighbour once who blocked mine and NDNs drive and instead of bring apologetic actually swore and gave me and NDN abuse . I think some people are on the defensive . I would never block someone's drive and if i accidentally parked in someone else's space I wouldn't mind if someone politely asked me to move .

ASauvignonADay · 06/09/2018 18:13

I'd be tempted to knock on the doors of the houses nearby and see if anyone owns up to it, then report to the police

SchadenfreudePersonified · 06/09/2018 19:30

Velociraptor

That is an inspired suggestion! We're going to be rich!!!!! HOORAY!

ForalltheSaints · 06/09/2018 19:49

Go to the police.

VelociraptorRex · 06/09/2018 19:55

@SchadenfreudePersonified ssshhhhh don't tell everyone!!! Wink

nzeire · 06/09/2018 20:05

So very bizarre! I remember seeing handwritten notes all over the windows in peoples houses in Ireland saying don’t park outside this house. I thought it was mental! Clearly not uncommon!!!!

NotBeforeCoffee · 06/09/2018 20:10

You should report this to the police. There are several offences here- criminal damage, public order and if they repeat this behaviour it would be harassment
You shouldn't have to put up with this sort of thing, horrible

SchadenfreudePersonified · 08/09/2018 21:33

Velociraptor

Sorry - I didn't think . . . I've put a few ideas together. None of them involve homicide, which I think is good - we can do an extra chapter on that if the publisher thinks there may be a demand. There is a lot of Gorilla glue and Vaseline involved (don't ask). Let me know when you have some bits to add

VelociraptorRex · 08/09/2018 21:49

@SchadenfreudePersonified absolutely, have your people call my people, I think we're on to a winner here...
Grin

SchadenfreudePersonified · 08/09/2018 22:11

Velociraptor

[winks}

I have a little "bag of tricks" for our "sideline" activities

VelociraptorRex · 08/09/2018 22:17

@SchadenfreudePersonified perfect, now we just need to find a way to market it, maybe on a web forum designed for people who might be interested... oh wait...
