In praise of people’s kindness

Here is mine -

Running for a train yesterday - got to the platform which google maps had said the train would leave from and my destination didn’t seem to be in the list. Thought I would check with someone on the train. I got on and asked a man if the train stopped where I was going. He said he didn’t think so, but then got out his phone to check, and to find out which platform my train would be leaving from.

Not only that but I was panicking that his train would leave with me on it, so I backed away so that I could stand on the platform just outside the open door. He then got up and walked to the open door, to make talking to each other easier.

Turned out my train was on the next platform along Blush.

Anyway, he made a panicky moment a lot easier as I was in a rush to get to a job interview. I said a massive thank you.

What are your stories of simple acts of kindness that really made a difference?

I had my purse stolen in town. A complete stranger helped me,- at bank to cancel cards, bought me a coffee, and drove me home as by then l had missed the bus. She would not give me any details,l so wanted to send her some flowers later but have not been able to. So Jenny if you read this, a very big Thank you. The man in the bank was very good too.

In a cafe yesterday, the DSs rushed to give their order while I was looking for my purse. After much rummaging I concluded that my purse must have been left in the car. We go regularly so I was allowed to owe them the money for next time and emerge with two happy children. Smile

Once I was crying in public (depression and a crappy week) and a lovely person asked if I was OK, gave me a hug and a little chat about nonsense things. Made me feel so much better. (and I'm much better at the moment!)
